1. [Re: Lone Wolf] If your "Master Monk" targeted with "Lone Wolf" attacks and destroys "D.D. Assailant", "D.D. Assailant" is removed from play but "Master Monk" is not.

Following Nomi week, we now take a look at the invigorated form of the Monk Fighter: Master Monk.

Its the strongest monster out there that can attack twice on its own without it having to attack a monster first. Plus its a special summon which means you can swarm the field with these guys (with are not restricted by, the way) and potentially have up to six attacks if you have three of them on the field. Its also the strongest LV 4 rock monster out there. This, Rock Spirit and Gigantes are three of the strongest special summoned LV 4's and they're all rock types.

One obvious combination is Lone Wolf. This ensures that it won't lose in battle and protect it from monster effects so cyber jar, Night assilant and the like can't touch it. At 1900 ATK, you won't take much damage at all from enemies that can normally destroy it unless their really powered up. Nor will it die from battling something with the same attack strength. Ram him into other 1900 hitters, he doesn't care.

Its reasonbly easy to get on the field. Although it requires a monk fighter to be tributed, that monster also beneifts from Lone Wolf and has a built in Zero Battle damage effect so even if they try monsters that pierce defenses, it still won't cost you any life points in battle. Monk fighter itself is fairly easy to get on the field. with stats of LV3 1300/1000, you can anyway many ways to get it on the field. Searchers you can use are both witch(in traditional), sangan, and gaint rat.

Or if you dont feel like waiting, here's another way. Try Rock bombardment. It'll get them into your graveyard. At this point revive them with Monster reincarnation, premature burial or the like. You could also removed them from play with RFG summon monsters like Rock Spirit, Gigantes, Megarock Dragon and then bring them back with dimension fusion.

The master monk being a special summon comes with a price. Its a nomi. Once it leaves the field, there's no way getting back on it unless it goes back to your hand and tribute another monk fighter for it. As such, in this type of deck be sure to carry at two Monster Reincarnations.

Until you summon Monk fighter, this card will sit in your hand uselessly. You want to be able to go through the deck fairly quickly. Also clear the field if possible. No sense in bringing out a monk fighter to get immedatily destroyed via a ring of destruction. Have cards handy to deal with traps and spells. Lone wolf will only do so much.

In sealed format, this card is a ok super rare but only if get the other cards that go along with it. It shouldn't be too hard to get copies of monk fighter and lone wolf but I doubt you can get another master monk, though who knows. Some people have that kind of luck. 3/5

In traditional, I wouldn't try it. There are PLENTY of ways to get monsters off the field besides battle and spells/traps don't last long anyway. 2/5

In advance format, this is a pretty good card if you play it a rock deck. You'll give ur opponent some difficulty getting it and its lesser version off the field. Its a rock-type spirit reaper that's fairly strong and can double attack on its own. 3.75/5
