Mefist, Blast with Chain, and Goldd

What would happen in this scenario?

Player B's field is empty

Player A attacks with Mefist the Infernal General, which is equipped with Blast with Chain

Player B has one card in hand, Goldd, Wu-Lord of Dark World, which is discarded with Mefist's effect

Goldd comes to the field, and destroys Mefist and Blast with Chain with its effect.

Question: Would Goldd be destroyed by Blast with Chain's effect? Or could player B choose to destroy Mefist first, and get rid of the equipped Blast with Chain that way?

"Goldd" would be a valid target for "Blast with Chain"s effect.

Remember, the secondary effects of the Dark World monsters activate at the same time as the Special Summon effect while they are in the Graveyard. So Player B would target the "Blast with Chain" while his "Goldd" is still in the Graveyard. Then he Special Summons "Goldd" and destroys "Blast with Chain" all in the same resolution. Now, since "Goldd" is on the field, he is a perfectly legal target for "Blast with Chain"s effect.

[edit]Or better yet, as you asked in your 2nd question that I missed...lol. Yes, you could target "Mefist" and clear the field w/o having to worry about "Blast with Chain"s effect.

[edit again!]Remember, "Goldd" says 'up to 2 cards', so you don't HAVE to choose 2. You can only choose 1. If you choose 2, they are destroyed at the same time.

Hope this helps!

That's what I thought. Thanks, guys. I'm toying with an idea for a deck that includes Mefist and Blast with Chain, and I was trying to sort out what would/could happen if I discarded someone's Goldd. I got bogged down in the details, and forgot that Goldd doesn't have to target Blast.
