"Take control of 1 monster on your opponents..." It can be face-up or down.

Nightmare Wheel still affects the monster it targets regardless of position.

For densetsu_x...What about "Creature Swap"? It can target a face down card.

For abaddon...."Nightmare Wheel" is a Continuous Trap card. It does not care if the card it is 'restricting' or 'attached to' is face-up or face-down.

Only Equip Spell cards would care (in this scenario) if the monster was flipped face-down.

And I'm not being picky here, I just want to clarify something that was more or less stated by others. Nightmare Wheel only targets the selected monster, it does not equip to it. It seems like I'm nitpicking, but in reality only Equip Cards "equip" to monsters. And then only face-up (Relinquished and TER notwithstanding). I think it best not to refer to continuous cards that don't equip, like Nightmare Wheel and Call of the Haunted and others that continuously target a monster, as "equiping."

Are you sure it targets? I haven't heard of any Continuos Spell or Trap that actually "targets". Hence, Mass Driver and Call of the Haunted if already resolved would target if this case were true.

Pretty Sure. :D LOL From the FAQ: "Nightmare Wheel" targets. You select the monster when "Nightmare Wheel" is activated.

"Nightmare Wheel" is NOT destroyed if the monster is flipped face-down. "Nightmare Wheel" continues to target the monster, inflict damage, and prevent the monster from attacking or changing battle position.

LoL! :D Well that simply knocks me off my feet.

It has me wondering though. When do Continuos Effects target? Or in a sense "continues to target".

I've always thought Call of the Haunted only target when the effect is first activated. After Call of the Haunted resolves, an effect is placed onto the monster to determine what Call of the Haunted is "linked to". Or Nightmare Wheel in this matter. I thought only Nightmare Whell targets on activation.

Maybe I'm just thinking too much. LoL. But in reality, if Nightmare Wheel targets, wouldn't this change a couple of situations?

Strike - Just to try to help, I figured out that Call of the Haunted continually targets, because if you try to Call of the Haunted a Spirit Reaper, it is destroyed upon resolution of Call of the Haunted.

Ah, a perfect example! Just what I was looking for. Thanks chaosruler :), I was flipping through my notebook seeing if there any cards that seem to Continually Target, I was about to go nuts. LoL
