Morping Jar #2

If my opponent has 3 monsters on the field when Morphing Jar #2 gets flipped, can my opponent count the Level 5 or higher monsters that he picks up towards the total number of monsters that he has to pick up and put to the field, even though the Level 5 or higher monsters would be sent to the graveyard?

Example: Morphing Jar #2 is flipped. My opponent sends three monsters back to his deck and shuffles. Then he picks up a Jinzo and sends it to the graveyard. Does he now only have to get two more monsters to the field?

Thanks

Morphing Jar #2 i pretty specific about the number of monsters you sent back to your deck is the SAME number of Level 4 or below monsters you pickup from your deck and summon to the field face-down.

If you pick up a Level 5 or higher monster, he is not counted towards your total, and is sent to the Graveyard after you have resolved MJ #2's effect.

Updated text:

FLIP: Return all Monster Cards on the field to their respective Decks and shuffle them. You and your opponent then pick up cards until you both have the same number of Monster Cards that were returned to each Deck. Special Summon the Level 4 or lower monsters to the field in face-down Defense Position. The rest of the cards picked up are discarded to the Graveyard.

Level 5+ monster are counted towards Morphing Jar #2's effect. As well as any other monsters that cannot be special summoned

Hey! I guess there's been something new added. I'll have to remember that one since I added a Morphing Jar #2 to my deck recently. I have very few tributes, so it wont effect me much.

The effect has always worked this way, right back to the original .pdf. Level 5+ monsters have always counted towards the total. The updated text merely clarifies it a bit.

Just to clarify things a little bit more (lol), we are saying that if you send a:

Jinzo, Black Luster Soldier, and a Sasuke Samurai

Back to the deck, and pick up a:

Dark Magician of Chaos, Tsukuyomi, and a Mystic Swordsman LV4

"Only" Mystic Swordsman LV4 will be Special Summoned to the field, face-down. The other cards, DMoC and Tsukuyomi, will be sent to the graveyard as they are not Level 4 or below (that can be Special Summoned), but still counted as the number of monsters picked up.

Masterwoo0 example is correct. Just a reminder as it still comes up with some of the newer players, Morphing Jar #2 only counts monsters it sends to the graveyards. Anything not sent to the graveyard (ie monster tokens) are not counted.

ok, say I am drawing for Morphing Jars effect. And i get and Mst or a Scapegoats. Can I use its effect since it is a Quick play? .... or is it technically still the damage step.?

What if it wasnt attacked, and I just flipped it on my turn.?

(same ?? for other effects that make you draw / pickup cards )

No because you are still resolving the effect.

- All monster's on the field are placed back in the Deck
- Both player's pick-up cards until the same amount of monsters are picked up
- Both players Special Summon all Level 4 monsters face-down
- All other cards picked-up are discarded to the Graveyard

So by the time the resolution ends, MST would be in the Graveyard.
