my body as a sheild question

i was dueling yesterday and i cam accross an interesting situdation, my oppenent tried toactivate my body as a sheild to negate me destorying my own monsters awe dsiccussed this and coundnt come to a resonabal conculsion so we dieced to ask you guys

any help would be appiracted thanks

he can prevent you from you destroying your own monsters with My Body as a Shield if he should so choose.

Thanks, But he tried to activate when I removed my Monsters from play to summon XZ Tank Dragon. But he argued that he could prvent me tributing becuase it destroys the monster. We then aGreed that removing from play didn't destroy but what about if I had tribute summoned instead?

removing a monster from play doesn't equal destroying it. Period, unless the card says destroy, it usually doesn't.

Same with tributing.
Tributing does not equal destroying a monster.

True and I suppose you its not an effect that destroys either just handy to know tibute is different to destroy.
