Nightmare Wheel vs Spirit Reaper

Player A has Spirit Reaper face down defense position. Player B activates Nightmare Wheel targeting face down Spirit Reaper(Spirit Reaper will not be destroyed because of being face down). Next Player B activates Swords of Revealing Light flipping player A's face down Spirit Reaper. Is Spirit Reaper now destroyed because of its own effect?

If I target my opponent's set Spirit Reaper with Change of Heart, and my opponent chains with Desert Sunlight, Spirit Reaper will blow itself up upon resolution of Change of Heart even though it was not face-up when targeted by Change of Heart.

If I equip my Spirit Reaper with Buster Rancher while Skill Drain is active and the following round Skill Drain is MST'd Reaper will blow himself up because he is equipped (targeted).

Neither of these situations has Spirit Reaper face-up at both activation and resolution but both are accurate.

A perfect point anthonyj...about Skill Drain and equip. cards.

We're back to continuous targeting again obviously. There isn't any doubt I don't think that Spirit Reaper would be destroyed in the scenario....at this point it's more figuring out fine details or defining the terms of continuous targeting and / or continuous resolution.

I'm just throwing out things btw as I often do for the purpose of discussion. It's amazing sometimes what tangets these threads lead us down.

Well like I said, if you want to nitpick and say that Spirit Reaper has to be targetd by a card that has resolved, then each of these cards has resolved. Thats why they are still targeting Spirit Reaper. The rulings say nothing about a card having to be "in the process of resolving" while targeting Spirit Reaper.

And as far as the activation thing goes, well it IS only one sentence in a ruling that isn't really talking about activation.

<belly chuckle> Oh I'll nit-pick at a lot of things....just to raise points of discussion and explore possibilities. That's how we end up with rulings that are changed and knowing how to rule scenarios that there are no written answers for thus far.

Folks don't get your undies in a bunch when I just throw something out for the sake of discussion....I'm merely exploring options and possibilities. No offense or ill meaning is intended alright?
