Not getting this whole Heavy Storm + Return combo.

So, why can't you chain Bottomless trap hole or Torrential when my foe uses Heavy storm and then chain Return from the DD with that?

Then what about chaining RftDD with Giant Trunade?

And what about other effects. Say I activated Demise Effect, would my foe chaining that with RftDD make those special summoned monsters stay on the field, or would Demise nuke those as well?

Timing issues and You cannot interrupt a chain.

if the opponent plays heavy storm, and you chain nothing to it, they can chain RTFDD, now if you dont chain nothing to that then he doesnt either the chain will resolve.

and it first will do return, then heavy storm.

since you cannot interrupt the process of a chain, you cannot activate anything. so :D

now if you use Demise on the field and do return with it, first return will return all the creatures you posssibly could return to the field, then demise we go, KBLAMMMM!!!!!! and nuke the board.

Build the chain, then resolve it.
Build:
"Heavy Storm" -> "Return from the Different Dimension"
Resolve:
"Return from the Different Dimension" special Summons the monsters.
"Heavy Storm" destroys all Spell/Traps left on the field.

Now, because the chain was still resolving, there was no place for you to respond to the Special Summon with "Bottomless Trap Hole". This is because you can't interrupt the resolution of a chain with a non-continuous effect.

What about it? You can't chain "Giant Trunade" to "Return from the Different Dimension". If you chained "Return from the Different Dimension" to "Giant Trunade", then you're still in the same boat with "Bottomless Trap Hole". You can't interrupt the resolving chain, so "Bottomless Trap Hole" will be returned to the hand.

Build and resolve the chain.

Build:
"Demise, King of Armageddon" -> "Return from the Different Dimension"
Resolve:
"Return from the Different Dimension" Special Summons the monsters.
"Demise, King of Armageddon" destroys all cards on the field, but himself.
Your newly Special Summoned monsters go bye-bye....lol.

Hope this helps!

Becasue Bottomless Trap Hole and Torrential Tribute can only be activated in response to a succesful summon. Return from the Different Dimension doesn't summon anything until it resolves.

Then what about chaining RftDD with Giant Trunade?
Same reasonings.

Who's effect resolves first? The last on the chain. RftDD would resolve first brining the monsters out and then Demise, King of Armageddon would blow up the field and everything on it. He'd essential pay half his Life Points just to have all the monsters destroyed.

What I meant by Giant Trunade is can I use it like Heavy Storm.

I have RftDD set last turn. I play Trunade, my foe have nothing to chain. I chain my RftDD.

RftDD activates and I mass summon. RftDD goes to the grave and the rest of the s/t ard returned to hand.

So this CAN work like Heavy Storm + RftDD combo right?

Hmm, but even IF they returned to the hand, RftDD is known for OTK, so who cares. I mean, all those Cyber-Stein decks are packign 3x Trunade, why can't RftDD decks? (Well 3x is a bit much) I mean, Scurry's deck had 2 Dust along with MST/Heavy. You can easily replace 1 Dust with Giant Trunade in that one. I wonder why people don't do this more often in metagames? (What? Cause of "card advantage?")
