If you use Cat of Ill Omen to pull a trap card from your deck and put on top. Can you just show your opponent that it is a trap card so that they want know what you are planning are do you have to show them the card so that they can see what trap card you got?

You must show your opponent the card you selected by A Cat of Ill Omen.

You have to show them the entire card. In Yugi-Oh, whenever your search for a specific type of card (monster/spell/trap) you must show it, in its entirity to your opponent for verification.

For a card like Different Dimension Capsule, since it specifies simply a card, you do not need to show it to your opponent.

I was just wondering If I could just show them that it is a trap card and not which trap card I got. I understand how DDC plays I use to play it.

The opponent must see the entire card. This works for everything that pulls cards of a especific type from somewhere (and incluiding Fake Trap)
