saw a dd crow article and it was mostly bashed with a few maybe sidedeck comments... with all the complaints about ddt & this becomming a $ wins game no one mentioned that it was a viable counter to diamond dudes effect - if the spell is removed from grave targeted effect is lost is it not??? so dd crow and transmigration become cheap answers to a big money winning cc deck type....or am i missing something? granted they may not warrant a playset in every deck - but like most of what we are seeing now from ude they have decent utility and no brokeness - a time & place for everything , no?

True, but DiamondDude is hard to come by in a deck since the 6Samurai landed, but i understand what you're saying though. I currently use two crows in my deck just for Treeborne frog and Pot of Avarice.

I was thinking about how DD Crow could be used against DDT effectively. Im wondering if it might not be better to try and target Malicious in the Graveyard instead.

Now, normally player's priority will kill this idea, if you are just targeting a Malicious. But I started thinking about how Malicious gets into the Graveyard. Its sent as part of the cost for effects like Monster Gate, Card Trooper, and Destiny Draw.

If you chain DD Crow in response to the activation of any of those effects, you can target the Malicious that was sent as a cost. The player can't call priority on it then, because they have to wait for the current chain to resolve.

Now this doesnt really help with Dimension Fusion, which is the heart of this deck. But by slowing down the thinning engine that Malicious provides, you start to clog their draws up and slow down the kill sequence.

...anyways....just a thought.

a good thought at that - as long as you do not run into tp's priority to use malicious' effect (in grave).... a chain IS best way to whack him...yer rite...i think...i dont think malicious's effect can be added to a chain - only begin one - correct?? there's that ignition/trigger thing again...

the crow will yank samurai's out from under a return of the 6 sanurai as well....causing that to fizzle and keeping shogun &/or grandmaster in opponents hand or preventing the "toolbox" field wrecking abilities of the 6.... :-:
or warrior returning alive
or call
or premie

D.D. Crow is also amazing against premature burial, call of the haunted, and birthright, along with other cards like them I forgot to mention. My personal preference is one in the main deck, and the other one or two in the side deck (depending on the days expected metagame). Probably just one though. It can be a really dead card in hand.

Oh, and don't forget about stopping the pheonix blade in the DDT deck. Use D.D. crows to remove the pheonix blades from play. This way they can't remove warriors (the key move preparing for Dimension Fusion or RFtDD) to get the pheonix blade back.
