RIP Jacob KT 2/16/06
I Finally got around to updating this post. The deck has existed for about 9 months now.
Although I only set Cyber Jar as a VERY last resort the deck can now win if it gets removed from play. Cannon Soldier plays a big role as one Cannon Soldier can do 3500 damage in one turn. Cannon Soldiers REALLy help the deck along, they do more then enough extra damage in between Cyber Jars to make the Secret Barrels do enough damage; special summon Cannon Soldier with Cyber Jar and tribute all monsters before using The Shallow Grave and Book of Taiyou again (they are going to be destroyed anyway) unless of course I need to tribute those monsters for DMOC to get back The Shallow Grave or Book of Taiyou.
I'm no longer sure why I continue to run Book of Moon in there, I originally used it to flip Cyber Jar face down when special summoned by Mystic Tomato and attack by an opponent's monster... I still use it to get Cyber Jar face down defense in conjunction with Premature Burial... alot. I sometimes use it on Magician of Faith. I guess the reason I still run it is because it seems to help quite a bit.
Night Assailant were originally put in there to get back Cyber Jar with Morphing Jar or Card Destruction but I don't really do that anymore nor does the the opportunity come up when I don't have another way to get back Cyber Jar without using my normal summon/set. Night Assailant is mainly in there to ensure there is a monster in my opponent's graveyard so that I may use The Shallow Grave.
I wanna put in a 3rd Reload and I'm torn between what card to take out; the cards I would consider are Call of the Haunted, Book of Moon, Sinister Serpent or Mystic Tomato. In the end I think it's going to be Mystic Tomato because Mystic Tomato was originally put in there to get Cyber Jar out faster, as were Morphing Jar, Card Destruction, and Reloads. Now I don't have a way to dump my mystics in the grave after I actually do get Cyber Jar because Painful Choice is banned and the only thing they would be good for is lowering my chances of getting a "the pair" (The Shallow Grave and Book of Taiyou), increasing my chances of getting 2 tributes for Dark Magician of Chaos, getting out Cannon Soldier (which does some extra damage but lowers my chances of getting a tribute for DMOC with Cyber Jar and Lowers my chanced of getting Cannon Soldier with Cyber Jar; that's a bid deal unless I can activate a Scapegoat at the end phase for 2000 damage), or stalling.
Now let me explain Desert Sunlight for a second. I discovered this card while playing the first deck-out deck I had seen in almost 2 years which, as it would seem, is similar in construction of my deck. Now it has been extreemly important that I have enough ways to get out Cyber Jar more then just 3 times (x3 shallow grave) and I originally did this by adding 3 magicians of faith and Dark Magician of Chaos. This helped but wasn't quite enough. So I discovered the power of Spear Cretin, premature + Book of Moon, and Call of the Haunted + Book of Moon. Every so often I would have multiple ways to get Cyber Jar on the field face down but no way to flip it that one last time nessisary for game. Also, Book of Taiyou can serve as a forced flip on Spear Cretin so cretin's effect will go off when tributed by Cannon Soldier... that however, requires x2 Book of Taiyou in my hand (one for Spear Cretin and another for Cyber Jar) leaving me with little to no chance of picking up my 3rd or, in some cases, non-existant (cause they are all in the grave) Book of Taiyou to get Cyber Jar to go off one more time. Desert Sunlight serves as the final blow and backup for Cyber Jar. The fact that it is a trap means that it is the last forced flip of Cyber Jar in the duel. I will get out Cyber Jar via shallow grave (or some other method_ and set Desert Sunlight and however many Secret Barrels I have. I will then, after I end and my opponent draws, activate Desert Sunlight. After Desert Sunlight resolves i will activate however many Secret Barrels I have. If this isn't enough damage I usually lose 1 of 2 ways. The first is my opponent ends his turn and I lose by default because there are no cards remaining in my deck or my opponent crushes me because he/she has the cards to win (because I gave them to him/her).
If you play this deck you'll spend anywhere from 2-5 turns wondering what i'm doing and when I'm actually going to do some damage. Then, once I have everything ready and in order, I'll spend 5-10 minutes on one turn during which time you will make one or more of the following statments:
"Hmmm... maybe I can deck you out"
response: I plan on decking myself out
"are you done yet?"
resonse: you'll never get to main phase 1 of your next turn so it doesn't matter
"end your turn already"
response: patience is a virtue
"I'm going to destroy you next turn"
response: I highly doubt that
"what is the point of all this?" (assuming they havn't seen a secrel barrel come out with Cyber Jar yet or they just can't put 2 and 2 together)
response: you'll see
After my turn is over, after you draw, you'll have anywhere from 9 to 22 cards in your hand, enough to devestate you with 3, 2 or sometimes even one Secret Barrel.
