royal decree versus call fo the haunted

if i have Call of the Haunted face up with a monster AND Royal Decree face up on the field

if i play Giant Trunade

what would occur with the monster?

1= he would return to grave

2= he would remain in the field because RD would negate the effct of COTH

That would be #2. Call was being negated so the monster will remain on the field unaffected.

Umm, sorry Barty, but that's not correct. If "Call of the Haunted" leaves the field for ANY reason, the monster it was targeting will be destroyed.

Please explain that. If you mean Royal Decree being activated in the chain started by Giant Trunade your answer is correct (as it would be active prior to Giant Trunade returning them to the hand). If you are thinking that Call of the Haunted works like Premature Burial please read Call of the Haunted.

Yes Royal Decree does not erase the connection, it just negates the effects while it is active.
