sand moth vs. share the pain

If i use share the pain on my face down sand moth does it come back faceup with 2000atk and 1000def, because the text on sand moth says only by effects and not battle so i think it would work but some people say it does not work because it's been tributed off and there is no ruling on it saying it does or does not work please help because i have been using it this way.

Sand Moth
When this face-down Defense Position card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, except as a result of battle, switch the original ATK and DEF of this card, and Special Summon it to your side of the field.

Share the Pain
Tribute 1 monster on your side of the field. Your opponent must Tribute 1 monster on their side of the field.

Sand Moth will not come back since it was "tributed", not "destroyed" and those are two completely different terms.

Sand Moth must be destroyed while face down.

Tribute <> Destroy

It won't work.

Share the Pain doesn't destroy a monster.
