Silly technicality?

We know that the rulings for Apprentice Magician has changed....we can't really name where it activates can we? It's in that "zone not to be named" that it activates right?

Can you use chain Divine Wrath to Apprentice Magician's effect then? <laffin>....I guess Divine Wrath doesn't state that the effect needs to activated in any paticular place <shrug>....just one of those silly questions I've been asked that stops and makes you think.

I like Divine Wrath...It's as versital as, say, Last Will....

"¢ You can activate the effect of "Divine Wrath" to a Flip Effect, Ignition Effect, Trigger Effect, or Multi-Trigger Effect. But not to a Continuous Effect. This is because Continuous Effects cannot be chained to.
"¢ "Divine Wrath" is NOT a card that targets, so "Divine Wrath" may be used against Dragon-Type monsters while "King Dragun" or "Lord of D." is on the field.
"¢ You can activate the effect of "Divine Wrath" against an effect monster's effect that happens anywhere: on the field, in the hand, in the Graveyard, or removed from play.
"¢ You can activate "Divine Wrath" during the Damage Step because it is a Counter-Trap, so you may activate it to negate the effect of "D.D. Warrior Lady", "Reflect Bounder", "Injection Fairy Lily", "D.D. Crazy Beast", "Dark Paladin", or "Mystical Knight of Jackal".

Man, I love this card!!!!

It's not so much that is activates in a certain place, but at a certain time.

Sub-step 6 of the Damage Step. It just needs to be destroyed by Battle to trigger it's effect activation. And yes, you can use "Divine Wrath" against it; however, it won't be destroyed by "Divine Wrath" because whether in the RFP area or the Graveyard, it can't be destroyed again.

<laffin> Yeah...I know you can activate it against Apprentice Magician......just provoking thought now....Divine Wrath can be used on a monster ANYWHERE....so where IS it activating? Doesn't anywhere have to be somewhere? <smirk>....and does a place have to be nameable to be somewhere in the game of Yugioh?....nevermind....some of you have no sense of humor!

And since it activates in the Limbo state (thanks Simon), does that mean if that Limbo state is considered to be Graveyard, would The End of Anubis negate the effect? (But not if Limbo was RFP?

It would seem you are right back to the beginning of the argument. When and where? Wow, who gets to make the decision on this ultimately the judges, the game designers? I am always amused at how people can be so adhement of one side and then be told there wrong because someone who outranks them deems it the opposite. What's better red or blue? Hurry now make a decision and it better agree with me. No don't give me that company line of will have to consult our staff. Don't tell me we don't know. Or, gee that's a good one. Is it RED or BLUE ? lol

lmao so many times that is what it seems to come down too. I am good at holding my position on things but it seems in yugi-oh it requires more of a politician than a tactician at times.

There's my $0.50 worth. And look we still haven't solved anything. HEHE lol

No, it's called the 'tween. You know in between places, like doorways, light and shadow, night and day...that kind of stuff.

The 'tween places.
Tween? Twain? I tought I taw a putty-tat?

Somehow I think John was expecting a more mature discussion from all of this. :duel_no

Are you kidding? More mature? It was INTENDED to be tongue in cheek!
I realize that. But is the tongue REALLY in the cheek, or is it somewhere else? If it's not in the cheek, then it must have been swallowed. Which means that I can't breath. Which leads me to the inevitable conclusion that forgot to take my medication this morning...

Apprentice Magician's Trigger Effect should be considered a field effect, since it triggers while it is on the field.

The timing of the activation doesn't make a difference here, triggers originate from the location of the card when the effect triggered...not where the card is when place on the Chain Block.

There is no "Limbo" state.

So no, i don't see The End of Anubis negating this effect.
