Sorry but i just have to get this verified... I need some solid proof to show a newbie that he can't chain in response to a tribute summon...

I know that you CAN"T chain a card like "raigeki break" to a monster a person is trying to tribute "Sangan" for lets say a "Jinzo" to try to prevent the person from tribute summoning when he already started to sac for "jinzo"...

I've try to explain that tributing for monsters have no "speed", therefore he can't chain to such an action...
CAN ANYONE help CLARIFY this ruling to make more sense?

Chaining involves secuencial cards being activated, summons having no spell speed (as you already said), you cannot "chain" to it, you have to respond to a summon, when you respond to it, after the activated card has been showed a "chain" begins.

Try "proving" it too him by having him re-read the official rule book. There should be no confusion that a summon has no Spell Speed after reviewing the information there and in the various rulings. Or have him do his research on the Judges List. People who require proof for a thing, very often need to do the research on their own. If he is new, then he should be more open to learning from more experienced players on such a basic concept.

Once a Summon is declared by Tributing a monster (or a Tribute for any other reason), it is too late to activate any Trap Cards until after the Summon is complete. If the opponent wishes to destroy a possible Tribute monster with "Raigeki Break" or any other card, he should activate his Trap/Quick-play Magic Card well in advance of the Main Phase. Usually, I activate my Traps like this right after my opponent draws so that there's no confusion.

Reminds me of an argument I used once before, that ended up sparking a few pages of debate.... :haveaday_
