SORL Effect question.

SPK

idle mc...
Just a quick question, some of the duelists in my area was asking to confirm:

If Player A has SORL active on the field, and Player B uses Giant Trunade, does the effect of SORL 'linger' after it was sent back up to Player A's hand, protecting them from being attacked still???

I was saying that wasn't the case, so I just wanna know if I was wrong in this instance or not...

No, I'm afraid not. Swords of Revealing Light's text is very clear:

Flip all face-down monsters on your opponent's side of the field face-up. This card remains face-up on the field for 3 of your opponent's turns. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, your opponent cannot declare an attack.

There is no lingering effect. Then of course, there is Swords' first ruling:

This card remains on the field and is active until the end of your opponent's third turn. This card must be on the field for its effect to be active.

Thanks ppl.

I was saying that as well, but there were a number of them that were saying something contrary, so it was a case of double-checking, even though I am quite up-to-date on rulings information.

At least now I can go back and tell them what the case is actually....*leaves all 3 Trunades in my deck in the meantime :) *
