Soul Exchange qustion?

If my opponent actives soul exchange and targets my scared phoenix does it come back on my standby phase or not??? I thinking it does beacuses it was destoryed by soul exchange..

Soul Exchange allows you to Tribute an opponent's monster. "Tribute" is not the same as "destroyed".

Since Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys needs to be destroyed in order to get its effect, it will not get its effect if Tributed.

Discard/Tribute do not equal destroy. Destroy would be Smashing Ground, Hammer Shot, Rageki Break, Lightning Vortex, etc....or a monster effect like Zaborg, Exiled Force....with these types of cards and card effects, Sacred Phoenix would come back the next Standby Phase
