The Dark Door

Text
Both players can only attack with 1 monster during their respective Battle Phases.
Rulings
A single monster may still attack more than once while this card is on the field, such as "Hayabusa Knight", "Asura Priest", "Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning", a monster equipped with "Twin Swords of Flashing Light - Tryce" or a Spellcaster-Type Monster affected by "Diffusion Wave-Motion".
If the effect of "Weather Report" is used to gain an additional Battle Phase, one monster may attack once each Battle Phase
[Re: Amazoness Archers] Monsters that have already attacked cannot attack again. If "The Dark Door" is active, your opponent still can only attack with 1 monster. Monsters which cannot attack still cannot attack (Toon Monsters the turn they are Summoned, "Ultimate Obedient Fiend" under the wrong conditions, etc.) If "Diffusion Wave-Motion" is in effect, only the monster affected by "Diffusion Wave-Motion" can attack. The ATK reduction of "Amazoness Archers" is still applied in these cases where monsters cannot attack.
[Re: Berserk Gorilla] If "The Dark Door" is active and you control "Berserk Gorilla" and another monster, you can choose for your other monster to be the 1 monster that attacks.
One of the most under used (and under rated as far as I'm concerned) stall cards is The Dark Door. When used in conjunction with monsters like Giant Germ, Nimble Momonga, Mystic Tomato, etc. this continuous spell card not only limits your opponent's attacking ability but thins your deck for other very important cards.
I've been using this strategy in a Ameba deck along with Mother Grizzly and it amazed me that more people lost their composure against The Dark Door than against Messenger Of Peace. The Dark Door with Mother Grizzly gives me the special summon of Ameba and the one turn protection I need for Ameba to use Creature Swap, Shein's Spy, or Mystic Box.
I usually prefer starting out by using The Dark Door as my first stall card and setting either Nimble Momonga or Giant Germ.
I've found The Dark Door to be a VERY interesting mental game and a way to study opponents. Most of them are lured into a false sense of security, as long as they're able to attack at least once they bare with the annoying card, if not they waste their S/T removal on it only for you to have Messenger Of Peace or Level Limit Area-B waiting. Controling the tempo of the game is one of the sure fire ways to frustrate your opponent and knock them off their game. Players are accustomed to going up against Messenger Of Peace or Level Limit Area-B but the vast majority of them just aren't quite certain how to play against or react to the option of attacking once or using a piece of S/T removal on The Dark Door.
You might enjoy the experience of using The Dark Door in a Relinquished deck as well as it seems perfectly suited to Relinquished's effect.
Give this card a go in the right deck for a good study of your opponent's mentality!
