Alright. Next, and of course a lot is still dependant on whether this is for a premiere event (like Regionals, Sneak Previews, etc.), I would suggest that you contact one of the Tournament Organizers nearest you, especially one of the premiere TOs, like Kieren Otton (of Sydney) at honest@morgan.net.au to see what can be done in your area. If it is a Premiere event that you are looking for, you may need to ensure a large enough group to warrent a special trip, after all, I know people who travel half across the U.S. to play in a regional tournament, even after playing the one in their state.

If you are just looking for local tournaments, well, that is a little easier. Go to any local gaming establishment, toy store, card shop or comic book store and let them know of your interest (A friend of mine started a YuGiOh! club at his school). Then find someone who can and will take the Level 1 Tournament Organizer test, and Judge test (and Player Management test), and have them run it (like I did for my local shop).

Back to Premiere events. If Kieren can't help you (which would surprise me) you can send Upper Deck an e-mail at australia@upperdeck.com requesting information on the nearest PTO and see what can be done about getting someone closer to you (longshot!). Perseverence and patience are your friends. Networking is your best bet. Find out who is around you, who is close and what interest is out there.
