Trap Support for Warrior Aggro Week

Today we bring you the trap cards that were chosen for this deck. Here's a list:
Traps:7
Call of the Haunted
Dust Tornado
Dust Tornado
Sakuretsu Armor
Sakuretsu Armor
Sakuretsu Armor
Torrential Tribute
The Call of the Haunted and Torrential Tribute are found in basically every deck these days, so it's natural that they're there. I think that this deck chose to run three Sakuretsu Armors to ensure his field advantage. The Dust Tornados are obviously good and popular Spell/Trap destruction, and it's rather useful to have them.

So there it is. Tune in tomorrow for the next part. Until then. :D

Those traps are the only traps you need for Warrior Aggro. :|

Edit: Scratch that. Those traps are the only traps you need for MOST decks.

You mean those are the only traps you need for a netdeck / unimaginative and boring deck?

*EDIT* Sorry <slapping myself> I shouldn't speak negitively. About this time period into any new Banned / Limited / Semi-Limited list I get so bored seeing the same decks that I tend to get critical of seeing posts about the same thing I see day and and day out <shrug> my bad.....I just judge it and see it too often. It tends to ruin the fun of "MY* gaming time....as Doctor Phil says though, "It ain't about YOU!" (Danker)

Yup. Unimaginative and netdecky. But they work. Trap support is not the biggest support. You need basic traps, and that's it. And those traps do work, they are boring, but they win.

But there are so many traps that are available!

Even good old Magic Cylinders can be useful, and more fun than sakaretsu armor

But then, I will include myself in the 'bored by the normal selection' faction!

Magic Cylinder gives no apparent advantage though. :(

No apparent advantage? <shocked> I've seen MANY a duel and match won because someone took their own damage attacking with Airknight Parshath due to Magic Cylinder. No advantage? Many a time I've seen D. D. Warrior Lady get slapped in the face by Magic Cylinder only to be wiped off the board the next turn by Smashing Ground or Exiled Force. No advantage? Do you know how damaging it was to have BLS have his 3000 atk thrown back in my face? <laffin as my own son did this to me>

These days, Magic Cylinder is so rarely used that no-one really expects it either- they have been counting the sakaretsu's and dont expect anything that can cause them direct harm.

I will also agree with Ceasefire- 2000+ damage is not uncommon, and flipping the opponents monsters without them getting the effect can be useful. A further use of Ceasefire is to flip your own monsters face up when attacked by something like a Mystic Swordsman LV2....

Doing LP damage with traps is worthwhile, and can be the difference between winning and losing.

Why does noone mention Spitual Art. With very few people runinnig 317 weapons of the Great thief it's excellent in warrior decks. GAF attacks --> SEA-K--> Second GAF attack or IFLL

<nodding> I often like to have a pair of 2000+ def. monsters in my deck, weather it be Gravekeeper's Spy, Roulette Barrel, Gear Golem the Moving Fortress, or Stone Statue of the Aztecs. Mystic Swordsman LV2 is all over the place obviously, Ceasefire saves those monster and makes the 900atk of MSLV2 take a slap in the face...especially agaist Stone Statue of the Aztecs :icon_mrgr

Kinetic Soldier anyone? 3800 defence vs a Mystic Swordsman LV2 = 2900 damage, plus the 1000 for Ceasefire (assuming no other effect monsters on the field...)

1x Unholy Calamity (Wicked God Disaster)

yea, from what i've seen of decks as of late you need a different strategy against what most people use. What they dont expect to see is direct damage, like Ceasefire, Magic Cylinder, and any other cards you can think of. 1 of my favs is Curse of Darkness, whenever a spell card is activated the owner will take 1000, but yes it works for you, but whocares if all you are trying to do is use traps and big defence monsters? Yes the magics will be needed, but you wont have to wait long your opponent will most likely destroy the cCurse of Darkness for you, which I love when it happens. But other than Magic Cylinder there arent many traps to help with the battle phase....maybe Cross Counter, but if it helps then use it.

You most certainly do John, Thanks. I really enjoyed dueling Friday night. I'd like to try my warrior deck against you again sometime. It worked better than I thought it would, especially using it for the first time last night.
