What would be some of the commonly used Tribute monsters in Deck's right now not including Mobius the Frost Monarch and Cyber Dragon?

There aren't any.

Basically, it's Mobius and Cyber. On rare occasion, you'll see Airknight, Jinzo, Mefist, Zaborg, and Hades. But mostly... no.

Mobius teams up with Zaborg the Thunder Monarch really well...
Other tribs you COULD use would be Jinzo, Dark Ruler, etc, but the synthesis would not be the same... Zaborg is the best bet, unless you have great field presence all the time, then you could use the big Turkey (Sacred Phoenix)

Most people rarely have to "tribute" for a monster, unless the effect becomes useless without doing so, like Mobius.

Of course, I hate to say this, but after playing the GX game, I have a new found respect for Sinister Serpent. When I got the card, I saw so many people using it, I chose not to because I felt it was a cheap card.

My goodness that card deserved to be banned! I dont know what I missed when I had the ability to use that card. I use it so much in the game, I almost forget that it IS banned!!

Tributing becomes so less of a pain, especially with 1 tribute monsters. I still think it will be some time before Treeborn Frog becomes a household name, but it's got a chance to make tribute monsters more popular.

This weekend at SJC Durham I saw more tributes than I expected. Paul Levitan, and Dale Bellido both ran decks heavy with Tribute Monarchs. Understandable when you look at the effects (GG).

However, left off the list were two that couldn't be ignored. Chaos Sorcerer (if you count Cyber Dragon as a tribute, you must count this.) and Gold, Wu-lord of Dark World. This was teched like crazy, and at high level tables. It was no surprise to me to see it, because I'd seen it teched a few weeks ago at Regionals, but it couldn't be ignored. Depending on the next bans it may continue to be dangerous.

My buddies were at that top table, teching the Goldd. Tom Casey and Tomm Warren, of Team Betrayal.

Then they both got beat in round 9, Tom by Jerry Wang and Tomm by I don't know who. 7-2 records put them at 14 and 15.

i wanna slighly disagree with jason there, becasue since the release of SD6 i've been seeing a increasing number of high level tribute spellcaster decks., and i run two bladedge's but i either call them, or necro them out(i guess the two necro's would count for that too as well.)

well, since sd6 came out, i started running 1 Dark Magician and 2 Magical Marionette's in my spellcaster deck....mostly because i rarely have to tribute summon them (magicians circle brings out marionette and skilled darks for dm)

I use 3 Sillvas and 2 Goldds in my Dark World deck *points to sig* Does that count for Tributes? :dur_jedi:

In most cases, Goldd and Sillva aren't really "Tribute monsters" This is why Cyber Dragon is so popular. I only tribute summon my Cyber Dragon if I need to Snatch Steal a monster. In most cases, people sidedeck Goldd to stop the Reaper + Donny strat. (And it works too lol!)

IMO, Ancient Gear Golem is better then BEWD. And I'm testing if adding 2x Treeborn Frog + 3x Enemy Controller in a decl will help get out lvl 8 monsters easily. (Read the Treeborn Frog ruling how those two cards combos for getting lvl 8 out)

Another chaos food we "might" see is Disciple of the Forbidden Spell. It's a Warrior so it's ROTAable. Then people might use Chain Destruction or maybe even Generation Shift to get another copy out. (Cause with this card, it's either 3x or 0x in your deck) And once all of your 3x copies are wasted, it's Chaos Sorcerer food. Add this with 3x Cyber Dragon and we might actually use 2 to maybe even 3x Chaos Sorcerer without much of a "I got a dead card in my hand" prob. I don't know, DDA is probably most likely will get limited 1 per deck so after that, we need to look for another alternative monster rather then 3x DDA + DDWL... and this might work? (For a Warrior Toolbox + Chaos decks) I don't know.

Maybe we'll see Newdoria back but that's not ROTAble. Maybe D.D. Warrior... but since that's Tournament pack only card, it's expensive as hell. Not to mention it' ALWAYS removes himself from play after it battles anything. DDA and DDWL can kill stuff, buff field advantage, and THEN goes away when it dies. DDW does take a monster with him, but it does little to your field presense cause it's a bit TOO trigger happy, even more the DDWL. I mean, someone can ram a used up MoF to get rid of DDW for freaking sakes.

Although we are seeing more flip-flop control with Pot of Avarice + Deko + Merchant decks so we're actually seeing 2x MSlv2 in a deck these days.
