From the Jump Newsblast:

  • For those who are desperately seeking Dark Revelation 2, fret no more! Upper Deck Entertainment (UDE) has just announced that they will be releasing a very special product found only at Wal-Marts and various tournament stores across North America. UDE's new Ultimate Edition features two packs of the limited edition set and will be available beginning December 16. Ultimate Edition will also include the Ultra-Rare version of the highly-sought-after "Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon" card (and don't forget the SECRET RARE Ultimate Blue Eyes Dragon in the January 2006 issue, on sale December 6th!), and a special collectible issue of SHONEN JUMP available only in Ultimate Edition.

This sounds really nice. Any idea on the price for this product and whether hobby stores will be selling it? (Hobby stores = tournament store, right?) Finally, when will this be distributed? Thanks for the info.

For everyone who complains that Walmart is the "Evil Empire", this should prove that UDE recognizes the power of Retail Stores when they REALLY want to push (or get rid of...) a product. And what better way to get Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon out in mass, than to have it right near the Checkout where wide-eyed children can catch a glimpse of the card that Kaiba used in their favorite Cartoon??!!!

It's easy to fall victim to the ploy that Walmart is the blame for low sales towards Hobby Stores. But again, when you only have 1 or 2 to be found in a particular location, and in some cities, none at all, how else do you get your product out? I dont think it's right what they did with Dark Revelation 2 (although I dont think I would have bought any at all anyway, especially since I only have a handful of DR1), and it's beginning to look like the experiment is also continuing with Elemental Energy, which I would conclude that we HAVE witnessed the future.

1. No more Unlimited Edition Boxes directly after the release of 1st Edition (Starting with Cybernetic Revolution).

2. Hobby Stores have near exclusivity on newest released sets for at least the month of release (Starting with Reprint Set Dark Revelation 2, and continuing with Elemental Energy Booster), and possibly longer.

3. Retailers are now utilized to push outdated material, such as Masters Collection 2 and the "Legend Collection" packs, to clear inventory.

The future is upon us, and it is ugly....

I think they have already released this where I am from, because I heard rumors that someone had a Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon already. I argued with the person who told me that, telling them not until subscribers get their Jump, but he swore up and down he saw one. And they said that the person told them they got it from Wal-Mart.

But for the record, I never saw it myself, and was skeptical. Even now knowing this, still a little bit. But considering the source, I believe it now. This guy really doesn't tell tall tales.

Anyone have a spoiler for DR2??? Or has it been out? O.O well I might get a few of these for DR2 or for the BEUD so I can make my kaiba deck XD

Utterly useless. Anyone with a brain and plays the TCG understands you can get the card for free by buying it in SJ for $5. Not only do you get a card, but you get a better buy since you can read the book.

Are the "Legendary Collection" packs Forbidden Legacy and Ultimate Edition?

What is Shonen Jump newsblast?

Why have UDE stopped making unlimited edition for the expansions? (I think it is unfair, because I am one of the few that collects and plays the game. As well as play with only unlimited edition cards, that will probably mean that I will have to wait for Dark Revelations 3 (Expert Edition 3-[267 cards just like in DR1] to arrive in the States. This could take several months.)

UDE releases Unlimited Editions for all their sets. I do not understand how you could not get them, let alone why would? First editions have the gold stamp which gives off a better vibe, unless you just like unlimited. I will not knock it, I make my decks with all the highest rarity of the cards I put into it, except Secret Rare except for a rare situation. SJ Newsblast is just a e-mail giving you updates on SJ related stuff. I have no idea what you mean by the first question.

"Legend" is just a blurb they give to the older sets that are still coming out, but now have the "EN" prefix.

So if you go to Walmart and see a Metal Raiders package, thinking it's the Metal Raiders 1st Edition/Unlimited Edition, it's likely the Reprint Metal Raiders, updated with EN and will have Legend on the backing.

Will Ultimate Edition be released before or after the Shonen Jump BEUD is released? Does anyone know when it might be released? So far there have been no UNLIMITED EDITION Cybernetic Revolution packs or boxes on Ebay, local hobby stores, or Walmart. If anyone would happen to have an UNLIMITED Edition CRV pack/box or know where I can find one please let me know.

I really never understood why they put out Unlimited Edition RIGHT after 1st Edition...

I think it should be at least 6 months to a year before a Set becomes Unlimited.

I really dont think they are going to have any Unlimited for awhile especially since they have put 1st Edition's back in Retail, and just looking at the newly restocked 1st Ed. Cybernetic Revolution, it doesnt seem to be slowing down any.

By the way, those "Legend" packs are repacked packs from a 3rd party distributor called Legends. They are the ones who brought us the infamous Champion Edition RDS packages, and the Warrior Triumph/ Tourney Pack packages. The EN is just the abreviation used to distinguish English from Japanese Cards. I believe they started that with SOD. So, any cards with EN on them, were printed (or reprinted for the older sets) after SOD was released.
