Vampire Lord - Controlled by Opponent

Hello

I have read in the rulings for Vampire Lord:
-----------------------------------------
"Vampire Lord" will only return to play with his effect when the owner controls it, because "Vampire Lord" must be "destroyed and sent to YOUR Graveyard". When your opponent takes control of your "Vampire Lord", and it inflicts Battle Damage to your Life Points, then the first effect of "Vampire Lord" is activated. But the second effect will not be activated if "Vampire Lord" is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard while your opponent controls him.
-----------------------------------------

I am trying to understand why the above text is true...

If I control my opponent's Vampire Lord by using Snatch Steal (for example), the card text talks about being sent to YOUR (ie my) Graveyard for his 2nd effect to come into play (and be special summoned during my next Standby Phase).

If Vampire Lord is destroyed, he goes to my opponent's Graveyard because he is actually the owner. I guess the ruling above then comes into play because the card was not sent to the Graveyard belonging to the controller (ie YOUR on the card). Therefore I cannot use the effect because it was not sent to my graveyard. My opponent also cannot use the effect because he was not the controller at the time the card was destroyed so the card text did not apply to him.

Is this correct reasoning? Do you understand my ravings?

Thanks

Sounds right.

"Each time this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent, declare 1 card type (Monster, Spell, or Trap). Your opponent selects 1 card of that type from his/her Deck and sends it to the Graveyard. Also, when this card is destroyed and sent to your Graveyard by your opponent's card effect, it is Special Summoned to the field during your next Standby Phase. "

Left wondering that should your opponent take control of your V.Lord and while still in control of it use a card effect (e.g. TIV or RoD) to destroy it, since it was indeed destroyed and sent to your Graveyard by your opponent's card effect would you get to special summon it on your next Standby Phase. By the card's text you certainly would but then there's the ruling:
""Vampire Lord" will only return to play with his effect when the owner controls it, because "Vampire Lord" must be "destroyed and sent to YOUR Graveyard". When your opponent takes control of your "Vampire Lord", and it inflicts Battle Damage to your Life Points, then the first effect of "Vampire Lord" is activated. But the second effect will not be activated if "Vampire Lord" is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard while your opponent controls him."

Think it's just an ommission in the above ruling more than a misinterpretation of the card's text, but then what fool would destroy it as above knowing that the opponent then could Special summon it in their standby phase, a game clenching RoD finally is all I can think of...

Any time you see 'Your' on the card text it refers to the controller. So Vampire Lord must be destroyed by YOUR opponent and sent to YOUR graveyard. Since you used Snatch Steal to control it, the owner is your opponent and it will go to his graveyard not your graveyard.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up, bit badly worded on the card so if people are just supposed to read it as having "your" always mean the card's controller, wouldn't using the text "this card's controller" and "the Graveyard of this card's controller" have been better, make it completely clear as to all possible rulings? But then 'tis small fry in terms of some of the cards which had to be errata'd.
