Vorse Raider CT2-EN003

Dark/Beast-Warrior/4/1900/1200

This wicked Beast-Warrior does every horrid thing imaginable and loves it! His axe bears the marks of his countless victims.

Today on Tin week, we take look at another good Beast-warrior: Vorse Raider.

What can I say? Another normal LV 4 monster with 1900 ATK. Like we don't have plenty of those as it is. In its defenese, it did come out before 1900 started becoming so common.

Ok, so we now have 1900 hitter for beast-warriors. And just like Exarion Universe, this guy's a Dark monster. Makes ya wonder why aren't they fiends. Heck, the flavor text on this one makes him sound worst than vilest person you can think of that existed though the last sentence is watered down a bit. "His axe bears the marks of his countless victims." Give me a break Upper Deck, its blood.

This guy's gets the same benefits as Exarion Universe does.

Although not as great as with Exarion Universe, Wild Nature's Release also gives Vorse Raider a nice boost before it goes bye-bye. As I mentioned in the Ecarion Universe review, a good way to deal with that is Interdimensional matter transporter.

As a beast-warrior it'll deal damage through defense when Enraged Battle Ox is on the field. It be like having a Spear Dragon that doesn't go to defense mode at the end of the turn. And pray it doesn't go to defense mode.

At 1900 ATK it won't die too easily but this card does have a rather poor defense when compared to other normal/effect LV 4 1900 hitters. Its a paltry 1200. Yeah, this guy don't look the type to parry attacks. Beware of Tsukuyomi, Book of Moon, Level Limit- Type B, Stumbling and other cards can switch it to defense position. Any 1250 ATK or higher monster will send him packing.

Obviously one of the best decktypes this card goes in is Beast/Beast-warrior. Cut, cut, cut through those defenses. Might as well use him, he sounds like the type of dastardly bastard to enjoy it. Be sure to bring Forest (since that's only way it'll get a power up along with the majority of EARTH beasts/beast warriors) you plan to use continous or field spells to power up your monsters.

Or you may try a normalcy deck though here a it would simply be a matter personal preference as to which LV 4 1900 monster you want to use.

In tradtional, he's no better than any other LV 4 1900 ATK monster without an effect. If Iabsoltuely had to use a beast-warrior, it sure as heck would not be him. I'll be honest with you, I think he looks badass but outside of casual play I'd use Exarion Universe over this guy any day. He at least has a good attack AND defense. 2/5

In advance, he's also a good alternative to try out in a beast/beast warrior deck. Just watch out for the aforemention cards that can switch him to defense. 3/5

It still kind of chaps my buttocks that they gave us this guy as a tin promo when there are far better options. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of having this card available, but there's more I would have rather had.

What really stings me is that Vorse Raider is really no different than Mad Dog of Darkness, save for the Beast-Warrior vs. Beast type.

Ho hum monster. But nice review, nonetheless.

Thanks guys. I like Vorse Raider, its just like Jathro said. There better choices out there for tins. Heck, I'd kill for a crush card tin though Upper Deck would have to be smoking something really strong (like when they wrote the flavor text for Nekogal #1) for something like that to happen.
