The Lair was attacked by spammers today. Over 200 post worth of porn and vile imagery. There was nothing I could do. I have no abilities to stop anything there. Be warned if your a member of the Monarchs or a casual forum member to stay away for a few days. BE WARNED. Some of the imagery is not for everyone. A few of us have mentioned that we will probably not be the same after some of the sites we've seen. Their just THAT grotesque.

Dillie-O has been contacted, and I'm sure he'll address this as soon as he gets our messages. I'll post up a an all clear when things have been cleaned out. We're so sorry for this unfortunate incident.
 
I would also ask that any mods here keep an eye out for any such actions taking place. It all took quite a short period of time and all posts were made manually and not by a spambot. Its impossible to prevent such actions but it is possible to limit them so everyone please just keep your eyes and ears open and if anything seems strange get and report it as soon as you can.
 
The crisis with the lair has been averted and everything should be back to normal now for all those monarchs that have yet to go there since this warning was issued. That dillie-o does a fine cleanup job.
 
<smiles /> I want to than DJ and ED for taking their time to notify me and go out of their way to to whatever was in their power to keep an eye on things until I was able to get things going. You guys really went above and beyond the call of duty and I thank you.

We continue to get a few new guest registrations and people nosing around, but all in all things seem quiet. The fact that we require an activation and that it only gets you to part of the Lair seems to have helped keep things somewhat tame, but it just goes to show you there are still people out there that enjoy doing no good.
 
vigilance is the key. If everyone is mindful of others then things like that can always be either avoided or minimised greatly. Just wish we didnt have to keep our eyes open for such people. Problem is until the youth of today manages to mature a little we will always have to watch out for them.

I applaud Dillie-O & the other Monarchs at the Lair for keeping on top of this.
I know who was behind that & where they are from.
They were only juvenile infants with nothing better to do.
The old notion of "ignore them & they will go away" seems to have worked.
Unfortunately, there are some people who see "creativity", "individuality" & "rogue seclusionism" as being threats to their very "competitive" natures.
Such individuals will seek to destroy & discredit such threats at any cost.
It was ME who they were after & NOT the Lair. It is indeed unfortunate they managed to find my "cubby hole" & invade it.
They are so dumb, they cannot understand even the simplest notion of "mind your own business".
To them, everything is "YGO Drama" whether it be unwarranted or not.
Just goes to show you kind folks what I must tolerate on a daily basis. I apologise, even though it aint my fault (directly).
 
Well dont worry about it too much. The problem is that such ideas are sadly quite common. The idea that individuality is wrong. The idea that themes are for n00bs. Its something we just have to put up with. Unfortunately this kind of thing occurs sometimes which makes it harder to ignore. In these cases a quick smiting with the hand of Mod usually sorts them out.
 
They have just done it again.
The Lair has been hacked into & everything has been deleted.
If I had a gun, I would shoot these morons & gladly suffer the death penalty for doing so. I am dead serious.
I SAID this would happen. I WARNED Dillie-O MANY times to make security on that forum like Fort Knox, especially if I am going to be posting there. I have a few mortal enemies who unfortunately possess leet hacking skills.
I'd also make sure security on this forum is upgraded to the highest standards. If people find out who I am on here, this site may suffer the same fate.

Actually, I don't think this has aything to do with nitwits that spammed the Lair. I've been keeping on eye on those guys over the last few months, and they've nowhere near the technical expertise to hack a site like dillieo-digital, which is what's happened here (The Collective and Deck Studio forums are down too). This has already happened once before, and Dillie-O took care of it. I'm sure he will again as soon as sees this.

This hacker is well know for this and has been hacking sites all over the web for some time. I wouldn't worry too much. Not until we hear from Dillie-O and what he says. I doubt everything was deleted.

From the looks of things, this guy just wants attention, because he didn't do a whole lot that I can see. At least on my site. Because it didn't take much to restore the CSC forums. Of course, I wouldn't know how to stop him, but I'm hoping Sean will.

No, it's highly unlikely these are the same cats Necro thinks they are. The guys she's thinking of barely know how to form a complete sentence, much less have any technical expertise.

EDIT: Oh, and Necro, nothing was deleted. I don't think he could break Dillie-O's security protocols completely. So no worries.
 
These guys may appear stupid, but please trust me.
They have done this to 2 forums I belong to in the past. They have hacked my MSN. They have totally destroyed my "locals".
They may not be the "same" guys, that is difficult to prove, BUT I BET $500 that this originated at one particular Yugioh Forum (I think you all know which one) & instigated by the SAME morons that instigated the attack on the Lair.
I trust my intuition 100% & it has never failed me before.
I hope that all the data is still there. I trust nobody & especially not them. Let's just put it that way.

I have a good idea who it is, but I cannot prove it atm.
 
The reason I'm fairly certain it was not the same guys, is because of the nature of the attack. He didn't delete anything, he didn't post something offensive. The guys that spammed the forum had malicious reasons for attacking the forum, and I think if it originated from them it would have also been a malicious attack. This guy just seems to be trying to get attention: "Look what I can do! Ha Ha!"

Besides, this guys has a website, and you can find his name across the web on all the site he's hacked, which is hundreds, in several languages. From the looks of it, it appears he's some kind of security expert, and he thinks he's doing people a favor exposing their vulnerabilities.
 
This kinda thing makes me all for vigilante justice but unfortunately scum like this need to be dealt with the proper way ie legally. Lets hope that Sean presses charges against this person using as much incriminating evidence as he can recover. Shouldnt be too hard these people usually leave a mountain of stuff behind. Just wonder how this guy got in cos the last one got in through a flaw that has since been fixed.
 
For every security measure taken, their are a bunch of guys trying to figure out how to get around it. There's no real way to patch every flaw. The best you can do is keep your stuff up to date, and overcome obstacles as they arise. Kinda like life.
 
My intuition is also telling me this guy is a "hacker for hire".
Granted, I may be wrong to blame certain induhviduals for doing it, but I would not put it past them to hire a "security expert" or such.
All I know is that they have hacked 2 sites before (nothing to do with that person named "turk") & they also know how to hack MSN & YVD.
They have admitted this & shown me.
I believe this "turk" guy is getting something more materialistic than satisfaction out of this, lets put it that way.
I have also heard rumours (thats all they are) that certain people at a certain Yugioh forum have vowed to take Lair down at all costs.
Can you blame me for being very paranoid here?
 
Well necro if you really think its them we cant change your mind so we wont try but please just calm down about your suspicions. It isnt just DJ keeping an eye on them I am too and im sure dillie-o was for a while as well. It isnt them. You can be sure of it.
 
Okay, I will be quiet. They will be guilty until proven innocent as far as I am concerned.
Sometimes, coincidences can be TOO coincidental.
Thats all I am prepared to say at this point.
