XYZ-dragon cannon vs Dimension fusion

Upon touring the card registry I came across this curious ruling:

"Dimension Fusion" can Special Summon "XYZ-Dragon Cannon" if it was Special Summoned properly first.

I was under the impression that XYZ-dragon cannon (And its sub fusions) were nomi monsters, hence irrevivable. Can anyone shed some light on the logic of this ruling?

But surely all of the rules that apply to reviving incorrectly summoned monsters from the graveyard apply to those removed from play too.

It appears it's a good time to say "Konami ga sou itterukara".

That ruling has sparked many a debate on the forums. Currently there is no way to "properly" special summon the XYZ fusions since none of them use "Polymerization" or "Fusion Gate". Of course the debate came back that yes you can Special SUmmon them correctly, just not Fusion Summon them. Even Kevin made reference to this on the mailing list and said that down the road perhaps there will be a way to "properly" summon them. So for me I just take it that the XYZ fusions can only be special summoned by removing the Appropriate pieces from play and that's it.

Now that I've said that, watch the debate begin again.

I've always presumed there was a way to properly Special Summon the XYZ Fusions, but no way to properly Fusion Summon the XYZ Fusions. As a result they couldn't be "reborn" through Graveyard retreval effects, since that would require a Fusion or Ritual Monster to be properly summoned first, as per card type. But removed from play monsters could get around that restriction, sort of. Come to think of it, that doesn't make any sense either. So here's to spamming.
