You believe what you want to believe on this issue then. Apply whatever logic you think. I am done with it.

Well really ya cant go using WC2006 to test theories on game mechanics as games can have any number of glitches which may seem to be proper workings and in-line with the rules but are completely wrong.

Also just a quick shot back at the whole anime influence thing...... If the anime influenced the game in any way shape or form we would have the original game as shown in the original yugioh series in which you had a large mat set up wth different field zones to power up your monsters. In which ceratin monsters could defeat other monsters whose atk was higher than theirs just cos they knew where to place their weakling.

Just to dispell some myths.

1. Yes you can have a successful TCG without a current manga, anime, movie or anything else.

2. Mr. Takahashi is the artist who created the manga, he also creates the cards, and owns the rights to the characters and names.

3. There have been any number of times where the manga (as well as the anime) have used a different picture, name, effect, etc. than what is released for the OCG or TCG. They are parallel media, they both generate income, they both are the intellectual property of The Creator, and for the most part they benefit each other to further each product and keep them popular. But to use one as a measure of the other would be incredibly wrong.

I can understand an anime purist complaining about the changes from the original Japanese to what 4Kids releases here. I can sympathize with the bad feelings that the TCG does not receive all of the cards released in the OCG. To a small extent I can even see complaining about card name translations and artwork changes from OCG to TCG. But nome of these are Kevin's fault (okay he could be fighting harder to get the unreleased cards).

Kevin could and should be doing a lot more period. There was never a myth that a TCG did not need a manga, game, tv show in order to be successful. MTG pretty nails that down pat. However, as true as this is the TCG is only as good as the company that is making it and sadly Konami FAILS in regards to that.

Just a short note:

These posts were originally located at the Priority - whatever thread - started by Tiso.

I cut out the posts that had more to do with the whole TCG // OCG // Anime stuff and moved this thread to General discussion. Please don't get off-topic again.

You can have your discussion about TCG // OCG // Anime right HERE and have your discussion about priority in the Rulings Section of our beautiful village! ;)
