Curse of Anubis

Quick question, can Curse of Anubis be used in the damage step, or is it only quick play spell/trap cards that modify atk/def ratings be activated?

Take a look at this thread for ways to get a UDE number without going to a sanctioned event. You can do it by fax, and sometimes even by email if they're feeling particularly nice.

I always use the 'create new message' button. Mine have yet to have been posted as well, but I get answers back on almost all of them within a day or two.

I really don't see this working, my guess is that Curse will not be allowed... but its just a hunch...

There is no Official Ruling so far... wait and see... or never recieve an answer at all.

Sorry if I've made it sound that I have came to a conclusion to this thread, which I haven't yet.

I'm tryin to input that I believe Curse of Anubis can be activated in the Damage Step is all.

I'm not sure if anybody sent this up, so I went ahead and asked about both cards. If somebody beat me to it, please update when you get the response back, provided they don't post it to the list.

I will do the same if I get a response back 1st.

From everything I've ready I dont' see why it couldn't be activated. Granted the only impact the position change will have is that what is being attacked will run off of DEF strength not ATK as was posted earlier regarding the situation how it was played. Other than that, true there would not be a point in playing it unless you preventing major damage from an atk. Perfect to use in Defense strategy when using Big Shield Gardna after it changes to ATK position. Or even Stone Statue and then chain Cross Counter to it.

My opinion... yes to both.

I believe that Curse CAN be activated during the Damage Step, however, I'm not so sure about Blast with Chain, but better be safe than sorry, so NO on Blast with Chain for now.

EDIT: I read Raigekick's post and Blast With Chain is a go (YES)

Ok, before I put you in the poll, I want to point out something. You might wanna change your vote after you read this :) .

The "Blast with Chain" was ruled already that it can be activated during damage step, as stated in 8-Claws Scorpion rule number 3.

3. The ATK of "8-Claws Scorpion" becomes 2400 during damage calculation. You cannot chain "Rush Recklessly" or "Blast with Chain" to this effect. If these cards were activated before damage calculation, then the ATK of "8-Claws Scorpion" becomes 2400 during damage calculation so those cards have no effect on its ATK.

This is saying that normally, you can activate "Rush Recklessly" or "Blast with Chain" in Damage Step, but you can't if chaining to this monster's effect.

Whew, still activity after going to bed, I must say, I rather like that. I swear I spent a good while yesterday looking for /anything/ that could help, lol, at least I found that one thing under 8-Claws Scorpion.

yeah, thats what i said... right? ::checks:: yeah, thats what i said. blast with chain can be activated in the damage step, but i dont think curse of anubis can... my reasoning is because of the position changing/replay causing effect...

(relate to book of moon: you cant activate that in the damage step either... right? and same thing with call of the haunted)

so just activate curse of anubis when your opponent declares an attack and youll be fine and not have to worry about it anymore... (thats when you should activate it anyway, most of the time... or activate it and then summon asura priest to destroy all your opponent's monsters... lol)
