Developments in the battle of XYZ and VW?

despite that, the two XYZ-Dragon Cannons in my deck box both say

"This card can only be Special Summoned from your Fusion Deck by removing from play the above cards on your side of the field.(You do not use 'Polymerization'.) This card cannot be special summoned from the graveyard."

I didn't notice the text in bold when I looked, but despite that, XYZ should still be able to return to the field from "Return From Different Dimension"s effect.
Wait, is this true?

Edit: Should've looked it up first. It is indeed true:

So do we indeed have another controversy?

I would say that the MFC text is no longer the correct text with the reprint from the Chazz Duelist Packs, so WE NOW CAN SPECIAL SUMMON THEM!!! :cog_cityo

Incidently, it needs to be updated in Ronin for the Chazz XYZ-Dragon Cannon....

the new text for 'XYZ-Dragon Cannon' (and all his offsprings) lets you Special Summon it from the RFG Pile once it was properly summoned by its own effect before, but you still can't summon it from the graveyard (for obvious reasons).

Last time it was not possible to special summon then in any way (except by their effect) since they are never properly fusion summoned.

Now, and official word on this subject would be nice. Has
anybody asked about this in the Judge List?

What is there to ask? Its text is consistent with Dark Ruler Ha Des, and we know that he can be Special Summoned from removed from play.

Dark Ruler Ha Des
Effect Monster (Fiend / DARK / 6 Stars / ATK 2450 / DEF 1600)

As long as this card remains face-up on the field, the effects of Effect Monsters destroyed as a result of battle by Fiend-Type monsters on your side of the field are negated. This card cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard.

XYZ-Dragon Cannon
Fusion Monster (Machine / LIGHT / 8 Stars / ATK 2800 / DEF 2600)

"X-Head Cannon" + "Y-Dragon Head" + "Z-Metal Tank"
This card can only be Special Summoned from your Fusion Deck by removing from play the above cards on your side of the field.(You do not use 'Polymerization'.) This card cannot be special summoned from the graveyard.

It no longer uses the "Except" text. Its now like Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning. Since its not a Fusion Monster that actually gets Fusion Summoned, its just a Special Summon of a Fusion Monster, and since VWXYZ-Dragon Catapult Cannon can be reborn, why cant this one, even though it has to be from RFG?

Wait, it doesn't use except? Why does our registry still include except?

Because UDE has not corrected the Errata'd text on their errata page. We use that page for our card texts. We aren't going to fix something on our side that's broken on theirs. That's why we say we're 100% accurate compared to the UDE FAQ pages.

The big hint came a year or so ago, that there might be a change coming with the new V, W, VW, and VWXYZ Monsters.

Well, there you have it. The Chazz Duelist Pack has the updated Text, and I would have to go back and check my DR1 XYZ-Dragon Cannon to see if it has it as well, but I dont think it does.

My problem with this change is that we are now under the assumption the other XYZ parts would follow VW's text and be Special Summoned from the Graveyard or RFG after they were Special Summoned properly the first time. I see Re-Fusion being a must in that Deck then. However, this also again irritates me to the point that playing Yu-Gi-Oh! is not fun anymore when a card is changed after such a long time. I understand the whole errata concept, but this is like Konami changing how Premature Burial works after all this time or making Card of Sanctity actually do what it does in the show. While this gives the parts more playability, it also raises the question how far will Konami go with changing cards around. How long has this errata been effect in Japan till the time UDE got a hold of it?

Its a flaw that Konami doesn't see as a problem. Honestly, I don't think they care half as much about the game as much as the players do. Yu-Gi-Oh! is a surprisingly succesful game that they never intened to be around for more then a few months/years before they planned on moving on to the next marketing cheme. They are blind when it comes to seeing the TRUE marketing potential of there property. I've stated this before, the people who run Konami are bad buisnessmen, plain and simple. No other buisness COMPLETELY ignores te needs and input of their consumers on the scale Konami does. It's only the truley devoted players and the new kids that keep the game alive. The judges and community forums who pressure the American "feeler" to define the rulings more clearly. Without them, the game would have been dead long ago.

It will stay around, and people like me for example will keep playin becaue, well, I've just gotten used to it after a time. I don't presume anything is written in stone anymore, although I do try to look for the method in Konami's madness. And sometimes I understand their templating. But, as I've stated many times before, there is a tremndous crowd of consumers who are chomping at the bit to see certain things about this game "fixed" or at least addressed. Konami refuses, outright refuses to do anything that requires them to put forth too much effort or to do anything that makes them admit mistakes. They seem to forget that they are not the TCG's answer to a royal nobility. They forget that they are just a bunch of geeks like us, making video and card games for even more geeks like us. Not attempting to address or even acknowledge the problems with this game makes them look less honorable in the eyes of then if they just took the time to listen to us. They just don't seem to see things that way.
