end of anubis vs dark world monsters

I haven't had anytime to really look at this, but I was asked the question from some players at my local shop, does End of Anubis stop the effects of the dark world monsters since they are activating in the graveyard? I am going to have to post something in the "are you stressed post" but I can't find a moment to do it. Thanks in advance to those who provide input.

Last time I checked, Exiled Force is an ignition effect. Where that comma in the card text is, bold everything to the left of it. Now read it. You just read the cost. Now unbold it and bold everything from the right of that comma. You just read the actual effect.

Where is Exiled Force located when it goes off? The Graveyard.

That's how it was explained to me anyway. =/

I have never ruled that EoA negates Exiled Force. It just does. That's all I'm saying. I know Kevin says otherwise, but Kevin can be wrong. Only Kazuki Takahashi can never be wrong.

Konami never ever said that Exiled Force was a Graveyard Effect. Someone at UDE said in the Skill Drain ruling that it was a Graveyard Effect. (Which it isn't, it just isn't prevented by Skill Drain because it doesn't resolve on the field.) So since it was absentmindedly called a Graveyard Effect in the Skill Drain ruling it was referred to in the EOA ruling as a Graveyard Effect and thus subject to being negated by EOA (causing much screaming, yelling, and gnashing of teeth - we would have used Monkey Cannons but they hadn't been invented yet). Said uproar about the ruling mistake with EoA caused Kevin to issue a retraction and admit that Exiled Force is not in fact a Graveyard Effect. However this only had the ruling erased from the EoA rulings and left the Skill Drain ruling untouched. Thus we still have the original error which led to the problem of misunderstanding in the first place. (Technically to anyone that cares it doesn't matter that it is referred to as a Graveyard Effect in the Skill Drain ruling because the ruling is only saying that Skill Drain won't prevent it from resolving which is true. The reason why is just incorrect. :)

Anthony: Necessity is the mother of invention. We NEEDED those monkey cannons, so I started... Really, though, the logic behind the ruling that EoA can negate EF is still quite sound. The whole thing did not come from the Skill Drain ruling, it came from the perfectly sound logic that costs are paid before activation. It even works that way in the show. *returns to his monkey/flaming shield*
