Final Attack Orders

If Final Attack Orders is face up on the field and I attack a face down flip effect like Night Assailant will its effect destroy the attacking monster before the damage step.

Negative. The order is this. You attck, Night Assailnt is Flipped Face Up and instantly turned in to Attack Possition, Damage Calulation, Night Assailant is declared destroyed, His effect resolves, Your Monster is destroyed, all are sent to the Graveyard. (Of course, assuming there are no intermediate effects to interupt).

I am assuming you mean you are attackig a set Night Assailant and have Final Attack Orders active on the field.

What you have to remember is the timing for effects. Night Assailant is a flip-effect, so although it is flipped face-up during Damage Calculation the effect won't create a chain until after Damage Calculation has been completed in the resolve effects portion of the Damage Step. Final Attack Orders being a continuous effect will immediately turn the Night Assailant to attack position but it won't have any effect on when Night Assailant's effect activates.

That's what I said. I don't know if you're saying "Negative." to him or to me. I'll assume it's directed to him.

Attack Targets are never flipped face up before the Damage Step without a card effect interfering. Final Attack Orders doesn't do that. Also, Flip Effects activate and resolve after Damage Calculations. Other wise cards like Dark Ruler Ha Des would be pointless to have in this game.

Also, since he even mentioned that Night Assailant is face down in his scenario, you don't have to assume anything.

Actually, the negative was for him. Also, I was including the entire senario, in order, the order of which CAN be interfered with....stopped attack, Night Assailant not being destroyed because OP activates Rising Energy, also, as you mention, Dark Ruler Ha Des would stop Night Assailant from sending him to the Graveyard. 'K?

basically Night Assailant goes into face up attack meaning battle damage and then his effect activates destroying the monster of the other players choosing.
Umm...not quite.

Player A attacks Player B's face down Night Assailant with Berserk Gorilla with Final Attack Orders active. Night Assailant is flipped face up and changes to attack position right before Damage Calculations in the Damage Step. Damage Calculations occur. Night Assailant's effect activates right after Damage Calculations are applied, Player B targets Berserk Gorilla with Night Assailant's effect. Night Assailant resolves and destroys Berserk Gorilla. Night Assailant now goes to the Graveyard as he's considered to be destroyed as a result of battle.

EDIT: You just seemed to be off a little. Perhaps you worded it wrong.
