Level 3's in the City

I already abused my godly mod powers (lol) and added him after he posted. I have removed the 2nd entry you put in YugiDad.

I tried to take the L3 at Gencon, but Rune said that they haven't finished the new test yet. I'll have to try to get out to Anaheim in November, and hopefully tackle the VS L3 as well.

I heard sometime ago he was 14, but im not 100%, it was a while back to he might be 15 -16.

Speaking of age, Happy B-Day John!

It would be difficult but if you pass your level 1 on or near your 14th birthday. The level 2 can be taken at any time after you have you level one and then the Level 3 after 3 months as a level 2. So if could take the level 2 fairly quickly and then find an open testing event such as Gen Con you could be 14 and a level 3.

Tenks got his Level two at the first Shonen Jump in Chicago when he was 14 and had been judging Regionals for 7 months.

He got his Level 3 at this years Gen Con. He is currently 15.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Rules is the only one that is 14

VS and PM are 16

TO, Demo are 18

I know some PTO want 16 or even 18 year old judges for liability reasons, but I have found younger judges are very useful especaially at Sneak Previews as they seem less threatening to the new duelist.

For some reason Judges like John and me can come off as "big and scary" to younger duelists (which is of course completely false)

In Germany you are no longer allowed to take the YGO RK tests when you're under 16.
According to Germans UDE reps, they changed the minimum age...

I thought this would be a worldwide policy change, so I'm pretty surprised that there are 15-year old Lv2's or Lv3's...

soul

It is my understanding that you must be 16 in order to be a yugioh judge... am I mistaken?

The last time I talked with UDE about level 1 judge testing, which was about a month before Gen Con the minimum age for Level 1 Rules for Yu-Gi-Oh! was 14.

Well, it used to be 16. From the Certification page: http://entertainment.upperdeck.com/op/certprogram.aspx
You need to be 18 to be a TO; HOWEVER, a friend of mine is a TO and he passed at 16!

I'm sure if you know the 'back door' to the test, and you pass, they automated system will pass you and there you go.

It's not the age, it's the MATURITY and knowledge that counts. Whats even funnier, is the number at my local store who is LV 1 and mess up the basic rulings! There needs a system to report major problems; however, getting UDE to answer even e-mails is a good trick! :huh

Hrm, John used to be a bouncer, right? Now who would find that scary? :D
I also seem to remember he was Anchorman for high-level tug-o-war. As someone who is 6'4" and only 195#, he would scare me a little. :D

Actually the age for level 1 for Yu-Gi-Oh! Rules used to be 13. They changed about a year ago.

I agree with both your point on maturity and also the rather large challange of getting UDE to respond to your emails.
