Sinister Serpent Question

I was talking to Michael and he told me something that piqued my interest. He told me that as long as Sinister Serpent remains in the same position in the Graveyard, it may be turned sideways as a reminder to return it later. I thought this could be in violation of the Uniform Graveyard policy-type thingies, and I was called on having my Sinister Serpent sideways at a regional a while back, and issued a warning. Which is correct, Mike, or the warning I was given?

To be honest it's a nice reminder to have. I don't see the problem with it but the judges that rule at Regionals can be often strict when it comes to policies. I wouldn't recommend it for an event like that. Maybe for local tournaments but not for those events. Unless UDE authorizes it then it isn't allowed. =/ And to think, it would serve as a reminder to your opponent as well. Which I don't see why they would complain about that. Then they know you have it or not in your hand.

I figured I'd chime in here.

I plead the 1337th... (yeah, I know some caught that).

Yep, the same thing that Ian Estrin pleaded after the Feb. SJC in Columbus, OH, I've been focused on VS System way too long....

Well until Konami gives UDE the "OK" on the matter then it will never be allowed. Even then some can see how it can disrupt the game state and how it can't. So why increase the risk of that when you can eliminate it completely? After all, the Graveyard is probably one of the most disorted pieces of game state that is screwed up all the time. Just think of the card Graceful Charity. People often just activate and toss the actual card Graceful Charity into the Graveyard before they discard the two cards. This is an obvious error of game state as Graceful Charity is placed into the Graveyard after the cards are discarded.

The soul reason for this is because of cards like Question can be easily abused with little effort if the Graveyard is disorted to the controller of Question's advantage. This is basically to eliminate possible cheating outside of inaccurate or very poor card rulings.

I'm not really against it but I'm not for the idea of Sinister Serpent being positioned Sideways in your Graveyard. It's just to make sure no possible cheating is involved.

I do believe more cards that require the Graveyard to be properally maintained like how Question works will be released to us. So it's not only to prevent possible cheating now but in the future as well.
