Sinister Control
ok strike ninja returns to the original owner's side after being snatched and then removing it out of play, but what if you snatched, book of moon, flip face up, remove out of play? who side will it return and remain on?

It will still return to the Original Owner. Monsters removed from play no longer have any conditions placed on them that affected them while they were on the field.

Once a monster that has changed control returns to the field, it returns to the Original Owner.

All you have to do is think back to the days of Monster Reborn.

Once you summon a monster from your opponents Graveyard, you now become the original owner. You didnt summon Strike Ninja to the field. Strike Ninja is not being Special Summoned "back" to the field by his effect, just returning, so he would not remain on the new controllers side of the field.

I hear semantics. I also hear flying monkeys. But all I really know is that once a snatch'ed monster is flipped, it loses all rememberance of the fact that it was snatch'ed. Yes, I know that is improper spelling.

Wait a second here...Let me ask this again.

If I "Snatch Steal" "Strike Ninja", then "Book of Moon" him, he stays on MY side of the field now, until sent to the Graveyard, or returned to the hand, or returned to the deck correct?

So if I activate his effect and remove him from play, he will return to MY side of the field and stay there, correct? He is now considered MY monster correct?

I understand what happens when "Snatch Steal" is still active and he is removed from play. He comes back to my side, then immediately reverts back to the 'original' owner's side. That makes perfect sense.

<puzzled> Huh? The original owner is ALWAYS the original owner.
Well, case in point.

If I use Monster Reborn to Special Summon my opponents Cyber End Dragon (that was properly summoned the first time) from the Graveyard, and my opponent activates Snatch Steal on his turn (since I didnt kill him... lol), and on my subsequent turn (since he didnt kill me either!!! lol), I activate Mystical Space Typhoon, who's side does he return too? He comes to me because I am the owner; albeit, not the Original, Original Owner, but the Original Controller (what I should have said), and it wouldnt stay on his side of the field, even though he is the one who will be taking the card home after the Match.

player A summons Strike Ninja
player B snatches and Book of Moons Strike Ninja
player B flips him face up, and
player A uses Trap Hole
player B uses his effect, during end turn when the ninja returns whose side does it come back on?

im not sure what masterwoo is trying to say.....

are u saying that itll return to player A, since he originally summoned it?

Strike Ninja would return to Player B's side of the field. There is no residual ownership issue here. Strike Ninja is under the control of Player B free and clear (unless somebody activates Remove Brainwashing at least). Leaving the field and coming back has no effect on that.

Actually no. Strike Ninja will always return to its owner after it returns from out of play. Its effect temporarily returns it to the previous controller's side of the field, but it returns to the owner immediatly after that.

As I've said before Change of Heart only affects the monster for that round so it would certainly return to the Original Owner after returning with IMT. And Snatch Steal is only temporarily holding control as long as it is equipped, the Original Controller is still the Original Owner. We have never received a ruling that would actually equate to removed from play = Remove Brainwashing. It would be nice to see what the Judge's List has to say about it.

Okay. I'm not convinced that is reverting control so much as making the effect available only to the owner while it is removed from play. But as I don't have any other ruling to refer to I guess I'll ask if somebody would mind posting the following to the Judge's List:

If Player A gains Player B's Strike Ninja through Exchange or Creature Swap and Player A activates Strike Ninja's effect. Will Strike Ninja revert to Player B's side of the field after returning from removed from play?
