Today I will talk about The Unhappy Maiden, of the MRD/DB2-booster.
It is a card that is not used, or at last not much.
It has a quite nice effect:
When this card is sent to the Graveyard as a result of battle, the Battle Phase for that turn ends immediately.
There are no rulings for this card (maybe because the text is as clear as possible?
).
The Unhappy Maiden is a Spellcaster of the LIGHT-side of the game. It has got 0 ATK-points and 100-DEF points.
It can't be really compared to another monster or a S/T-card, since it has got a unique effect.
The best use for it is when you have almost no monsters on the field. When your opponent attacks it, the opponent will have often no Battlephase anymore in his/her turn. However, The Unhappy Maiden's effect is also its weakness: if a card attacks that can negate the effect of the attacked cards, (or a card that does overflow damage at DEF-position monsters) you will have a problem. With just 100 DEF and no ATK, you'll have a guarantee that it is being destroyed in battle.
Pro's:
- When destroyed in battle, it will stop your opponents Battlephase
Con's:
- It has no ATK-points, and about no DEF-points. Having it destroyed is about too easy
- When your opponent uses a monster with effect-negating or overflowdamage capability, you'll have a BIG problem
P.s.: I use it in my Fairy/LIGHT Deck. Could be an example?
P.P.S.: sorry, it doesn't really fit in the theme of this week. But I just thought of it, and wanted to write down before I forgot it...
Greetings,
