What happens when Tribute Target Disappears?

Hello

If I have two monsters on the field and select one of them as the target for the tribute-summon of my 5-star monster in my hand, what happens if that selected monster is destroyed before the tribute actually occurs?

Can I simply select the other monster to perform my tribute summon or is that the end?

I think the answer is that tributing does not really involve targetting so there is no problem and I simply select an alternate monster to tribute.

Thoughts or advice?

Thanks

Krazy, this isn't one of those things you can debate. The effect of Bottomless Trap Hole is chained to the Trigger Effect of a summoned monster like Mobius. This is a long standing mechanic that we've covered on the forums before. It's also something that's been covered on the judges list before. Your arguing with the wind here.

Bottomless can respond to a succesful summon as long as it was the last thing to resolve. If that monster has a Trigger or Ignition effect then Bottomless can be chained to it, because the last thing to resolve is still a summon. Multiple Bottomless Trap Holes can be activeted in this same response chain. And yes, we've covered that before too.

You can't use it on Jinzo because Jinzo is a Continuous Effect that becomes active immediatly upon a succsesful summon. Aside from the fact that Continuous Effects can't be chained to, to begin with.

This is like saying if I attack and activate Rush Recklessly for my priority that my opponent can't activate Sakuretsu Armor. When in actuality, they can.

To put it at a much more simplier explaination, the reason you can chain Bottomless Trap Hole to Mobius the Frost Monarch's effect is if you think of it like this. Both effects are technically being activated in response to the summoning, there for Bottomless Trap Hole, being the Spell Speed 2 it is, can chain to other cards in a Chain Block that's created in response to a summoning. This has been covered WAAAAY too much over the past year alone.
